This Christmas we embarked on one of our favourite projects to date. Over the past few years A.P Bloem have been privileged to be the official florist of the beautiful Marcel Wanders designed 5 star hotel, The Andaz.
We were thrilled with the challenge to decorate the spaces throughout this already well-embellished hotel. Also to bring in the spirit of Christmas, whilst keeping inline the boutique hotel's unique and characteristic look and feel.

Perched next to the prestigious Prinsengracht canal, The Andaz is one of the gems of Amsterdam which locals and even international celebrities choose to call their home when in town. It also boasts a delicious restaurant The Bluespoon.

We chose to work within the theme 'Fairytale Forest Christmas'. Strong golds, whites and touches of red filled the 13 locations across two floors including the entrance, front windows, gallery, meeting rooms, restaurant, reception, bar and the verdant outdoor archway next to the garden.

We chose to keep as many materials natural and the majority of decorations inside the hotel were lovingly handmade by the A.P Bloem team. This means we needed to start the preparations 3 months ahead of time to allow for all the fine details to be made. You will find sequinned Christmas balls, fabric and natural wreath embellished giant bows and a custom-made Santa hat for the cheeky Golden Moose on the wall.

The 'Fairytale Forest Christmas' wouldn't be complete without white and gold birds and butterflies flying around the hand-wrapped and custom decorated gifts in the foyer, and dotted around the hotels common areas.

The outdoor archway next to the garden shines and spins with snowflakes, white painted ceramic bells and golden glittering stars - it's like walking under a dreamy constellation of magical fairytales!

Christmas is on display at The Andaz until 5 January 2015 so come and have a cocktail on 'Vodka Friday' , relax in some festive surroundings and extend your Christmas just a little bit longer before your new year kicks in… Oh what a year!
