Oh boy, it’s been a long time between blog posts! As similarly experienced alongside the rest of the rest of the world, this pandemic slightly threw us. Ok, really threw us. There has been an uncertainly hovering over all our event and corporate work for the past 18 months, and now the first of the larger events are starting. We are not out of the woods yet, with Covid-19 numbers dramatically increasing since July, we wait with bated breath to be able to continue to celebrate these occasions of love more often.
So let me introduce a little bit of behind the scenes of the wedding of Kimberly & Heiko. This beautiful wedding was briefed by the couple to have a fresh botanical vibe of greens and whites, closely aligned to the unique location, De Hortus Botanicus in Amsterdam - one of the oldest botanical gardens in Europe.
We are always humbled working together with De Hortus over all these years, and are honoured to be chosen as their preferred florist. Each time we decorate at the beautiful location, it’s always different and completely customised to the client and their wishes.
It was a beautiful warm spring day. The ceremony spanned along the Palmkas (the Palm greenhouse) , filled with simple white chairs, and flowers emerging from inside the giant planter which provided the main backdrop for the vows, filled with philodendron, phlebodium and palm leaves, elegant phalaenopsis orchids, hydrangeas and statuesque delphinium. Later in the afternoon, long tables spanned graciously along the greenhouse with various orchids, peonies, chamomile, hydrangea, ferns and the sweet and fuzzy ‘sweet William’ dianthus.
It was great to be back, and we wish the greatest of congratulations to Kimberly & Heiko!
