We recently were interviewed by The Shopkeepers and were asked “What made you open a florist?”, we responded by saying “Floristry for us is about delivering an emotion. The relationship between flowers and people has a long-standing value for us. It’s about forging lasting relationships with our neighbours, and being part of a collective community. Over the years our customers have become our friends, and the flowers we create for them are for occasions they hold dear to their hearts, such as birthdays, housewarmings, graduations, their first child’s arrival and even their weddings. It is special to be part of their story, and to create something tailored that reflects that moment”. This statement is never truer, with our recent bride, Judith.
Judith is a lover of beautiful things. She is an interior stylist, with her own company STudio STeitner, and also for the creative agency gommans + steitner, offering photography, styling & branding. So it’s no surprise that her wedding was going to be thoughtful and gorgeous, just like her. We love it when a bride has a clear idea of her dream wedding and that they allow us to ‘paint’ that picture. Judith and Stella, her business partner visit the shop to buy blooms for their photoshoots, and it’s lovely to continue relationships, after the vows are made, and everyone’s lives continue, and grow.
Judith married the love of her life, Bram at NewWerktheatre, in Amsterdam. The location used to be a ‘daylight’ theatre, and was the perfect space to host their ceremony and reception.

The styling was beautifully simple for the ceremony. A minimalist birch archway was the backdrop for the “I do’s”, and was adorned with olive branches and a garland of hops. Perched in the windows of the room, were foliage wreaths of olive and eucalyptus, to create an overall theme. Their darling daughter Liv walked Judith down the aisle, and the love was immediately apparent between Judith and Bram. The atmosphere and words were electric, and the film by Liefste Dag captured it poetically. And let’s just take a moment to talk about ‘that dress’. Wow. What a perfect picture Bram was witness to, for that first day he called himself her husband.
For the reception, a white and pale blush palette was arranged in simple transparent bottles, along an intimate communal table for the guests. Clear glass cylinders shone candlelight into the room.
Their memories were beautifully captured, and the film brought tears to our eyes with every preview released, and each full film that was viewed during editing process. An overflow of emotion and beauty!
