Amsterdam has boasted some unusually warm weather lately, and the wedding of Amber & Simon was held on the very first day of perfect blue skies and sunshine, after a long spell of grey stormy Dutch weather.
Amber and Simon moved across the seas, from America to Amsterdam, to continue their new chapter in life, and were a seriously handsome wedding couple. The bride's 'Kenny Gown', by Miss Hayley Paige... was nothing less than a showstopper!
Set within the impressive grounds of Park Frankendael, the building's monumental decorative facade happily greets you as you pull in. But it doesn't give everything away at once, you have to pass through the cosy restaurant and former coach house, Merkelbach to wander to the stunning gardens around the back of the property.
We enjoy working in romantic locations, especially outdoors, and we have to say that the country estate of Huize Frankendael is one dreamy place. We have been working together with this special location for many years now, and it's always a pleasure to return.
We loved that Amber & Simon gave us complete freedom to design a decorative setup for them, that spanned from the large ceremony backdrops, to the vertical garden of foliage hoops across the tables. The florals were in a soft pastel palette of blush and white, and peony season was in full force! David Austin and Romantic Antique roses also graced the stage, as well as delphiniums, sweetpea, trailing jasmine and oxypetalum, with wax flowers for the place settings. Pure romance!
We always have a soft spot for sentimentality, and loved hearing about Amber's Mother, Jill, owner of Be something new, who created the veil, hairpieces, dress sash and the flower girl's whimsical tutu.
We wish you all the best Amber and Simon, and thank you for your faith in us!
